Landed

I couldn't believe I got seagulls on every post but one.  This photograph was taken in Bodega Bay, California.  It was a fairly cold November day.

Rolling In the Deep

Well, as summer comes to an end it's only fitting that I put up a couple of surfer pictures.

"There are no more committed people on the planet than surfers. We fall down a lot. We turn around, paddle back out, and do it over and over again. Unlike anything else in life, the stoke of surfing is so high that the failures quickly fade from memory."

I think that this is probably every guy's dream of "Little Surfer Girl."

Freedom

I went to Bodega Bay in California and was fortunate enough to come upon this sight.  My husband grew up around there and said he'd never seen such a large flock of pelicans.  There were so many floating together in the water.  Being a photographer, this was a very exciting find.  The day was perfect and the water was calm.  In the next few days I'll be posting more of these.

Freedom means you are unobstructed in living your life as you choose. Anything less is a form of slavery.

The Best Day

Just to show everyone that I haven't been slacking, I'm posting 10 photographs today. These are part of a day spent in Laguna Beach with my family.  I have a Photoshop piece in the mix also.

Wild Wild West

A sand ball in one hand and a gun in the other, this little one was ready to conquer any sea creature that came his way.
I had a gun and I had to run and shoot, which is not easy.

Runaway Feeling

A photograph of my nephew, Robby, having fun in the surf.
A mountain is composed of tiny grains of earth. The ocean is made up of tiny drops of water. Even so, life is but an endless series of little details, actions, speeches, and thoughts. And the consequences whether good or bad of even the least of them are far-reaching.

I did this Photoshop piece for a video project in school.

But more wonderful than the lore of old men and the lore of books is the secret lore of ocean.

I think this looks like the perfect spot on a perfect-like day.

Lonely Lamp Post

This is a lamp post at the end of the Santa Monica Pier.  It was a perfect day without too many people on the pier that day.

Teenage Surfer Boy

This surfer ran to the beach just as the sailboat was in the perfect position.  What luck.  Sometimes things just work out!

Little Surfer Boy

This has to be one of the cutest things I have come across at the beach.  This kid was into it, checking out every part of the surfboard.  I could see him dreaming of the day he would be big enough to use a surfboard that was this large.  He looked like a mini surfer, attitude and all.

There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.
