The Perfect Space

This is a photograph of frost on the ground.  I love the patterns that God creates.  You'll probably see this again when I use it for a background in one of my collages.

All Is Calm

I'm going to Colorado for Christmas.  This is the beauty I saw the last time I was there.

Landed

I couldn't believe I got seagulls on every post but one.  This photograph was taken in Bodega Bay, California.  It was a fairly cold November day.

Rocks

Happy Thanksgiving!  Here's a photograph I made while in Colorado a few years ago on Thanksgiving Day when we got a very nice present of 8 inches of snow.  Coming from living in the desert for 25+ years, I had a ball going everywhere and making pictures!

Advice is like snow - the softer it falls, the longer it dwells upon and the deeper it sinks into the mind

Winter

These photographs were made a couple of years ago in the desert of California.  This is a rare sight in the Antelope Valley.  What a nice treat!

There is a privacy about it which no other season gives you.... In spring, summer and fall people sort of have an open season on each other; only in the winter, in the country, can you have longer, quiet stretches when you can savor belonging to yourself.

Fit to Serve

Well, today we'll serve something different!  I had a great time photographing these beauties!

Painting By Chagall

I was looking at some Photoshop blogs and somehow discovered a painting technique that I tried and loved!  I am inclined to enjoy some unusually strange stuff.  I think I'm going to try to do more of these....lol!

By My Side

This is another photograph I made on the WorldwidePhotoWalk.  The dog was so amazing with so much hair and looked just like his master.

Every Picture Tells A Story

I was in Bodega Bay California right before crab season.  These are the crab pots lined up on the pier ready to go.

MyLittle Town

This photograph was made in downtown Petaluma California.  As you can see, it was a gorgeous autumn day.

Guiding Light

I thought this photo was an appropriate one for fall.

About a Boy

This is another photo I took at the Worldwide Photowalk.  This boy was walking across the street and I rushed to get the shot.

Older people sit down and ask, 'What is it?' but the boy asks, 'What can I do with it?'.

Have No Fear

On October 1st and 2nd in more than 1,100 cities around the world nearly 30,000 photographers collectively took literally millions of photos as part of their local Photo Walk.  My photowalk was the Sunset Junction Photowalk in Silverlake California.  I mets some wonderful people and had a lot of fun.  Anyone can participate and there is no fee.  This is an annual event and it was my first.  I plan on participating in many more in the years ahead.  This walk is for people who love photography and you can make pictures with any kind of camera and be any level of photographer from beginner to professional.  I will be posting several of my photos in the days and weeks to come.  This first one is a collage of my day.

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

Roll Me Away

Well, since it IS Halloween I thought we needed to see a few more pumpkins.

Linus: [to Sally as she walks away with everyone else] Hey, aren't you going to wait and greet the Great Pumpkin? Huh? It won't be long now. If the Great Pumpkin comes, I'll still put in a good word for you!
[realizes what he just said]
Linus: Good grief! I said "if"! I meant, "when" he comes!
[calmly]
Linus: I'm doomed. One little slip like that could cause the Great Pumpkin to pass you by.
[calling out]
Linus: Oh, Great Pumpkin, where are you?

The Golden Floor

Okay, so I know it's been a month since I've posted.  A lot has gone on this past month.  Anyway, here's a Photoshop piece for autumn.  I've always liked to capture the leaves after they've fallen, floating next to the curb.

Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.

Ooh, You're Gold

Took this photo of the windmill when we stopped at Andersen's Split Pea on the way to Petaluma.

I find little in the works of Beethoven, Berlioz, Wagner and others when they are led by a conductor who functions like a windmill.

Drive

Here's a collection of some of the photos I've taken of antique cars.

Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?

Lovesong of the Buzzard.

It's still possible to discover old buildings in the country.

I was so naive as a kid I used to sneak behind the barn and do nothing.

Miles From Nowhere

I made this photograph in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.  I appreciate all the cactus I get to observe there.

Neon Wilderness

I always seem to find flowers in the most interesting of places.
