Unnatural Habitat

So far, these are the only photographs I've made of cows.  I thought this one's face was very interesting.
Cows are amongst the gentlest of breathing creatures; none show more passionate tenderness to their young when deprived of them; and, in short, I am not ashamed to profess a deep love for these quiet creatures.

Nearer My God to Thee

This church is across the street from the UCLA campus.  I thought the spires on their steeple were beautiful.  The textures were smooth and reminded me of when I used to go to the creek in Colorado and play with the sandstone in the river.

Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in. Aim at earth and you get neither.

In My Younger Days

Most of the women I know just LOVE their high heeled shoes. Many become obsessive shopping for the next great pair!

High heels were invented by a woman who had been kissed on the forehead.

The Song Remembers When

These are photographs of the Villa Carlotta in Hollywood on Franklin Ave.  The Villa Carlotta apartment building was originally built as the staff quarters for those working at the Chateau Elysée, which is now the Scientology Celebrity Center.   The Villa Carlotta is privately owned and has not been renovated. It is a Hollywood historical landmark and is now used for apartment living.
A society that has made "nostalgia" a marketable commodity on the cultural exchange quickly repudiates the suggestion that life in the past was in any important way better than life today.

Precious Memories

I made this photograph when I was at a hotel swimming pool.  A mother and her little baby son had just had a fun time in the water.  They got out and while she was keeping him warm they fell asleep.  It is one of my most treasured photographs.
God gave us memories that we might have roses in December.

The World Has Turned And Left Me Here

This trip was one of my most spectacular.  I took photos from Colorado Springs to Los Angeles.  Wow.
It is spectacular. From about five minutes in, when we knew for sure that we were going to have the weather to go, the smile on my face just got bigger and bigger, and I was just beaming through the whole launch. I mean, it is just an amazing ride.

My America

I was just at the airport yesterday and it got me thinking about all the photographs I've taken while riding on airplanes.  Maybe the next few days I'll post some of my favorites.

May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds.
