I had the privilege of doing a family photo shoot at the beach. I haven't had so much fun in so long, although I think we were all worn out when all was said and done. Everyone in the family had such a great attitude! That in itself was amazing because there were 4 teenagers! The family had a collection of beautifully framed black and white and sepia-toned surf photography in their home. One of the goals of the day was to recreate some of these photos to add to their collection. This is an example of one of the photos before and after! Usually, as a photographer today you're taking scratches OUT of a photograph...not putting them in!!!
All photographs are there to remind us of what we forget. In this - as in other ways - they are the opposite of paintings. Paintings record what the painter remembers. Because each one of us forgets different things, a photo more than a painting may change it's meaning according to who is looking at it"
